Pantera – Power Metal
Genre:
Rock
Style:
Heavy Metal, Power Metal
Year:
1988
Notes:
The Band's 4th Album
Released V 1988.
This was Pantera's final "Metal Magic" era album (and the only one from this period, to be officially released on Compact Disc). Afterwards, the band experienced Total Style Changeover, which resulted in dissolution of Metal Magic Records.
Pantera's first (and only "Metal Magic" era) album to feature Phil Anselmo on vocals. Ironically, it was Diamond Darrell, whose style of his lead vocals (on "P*S*T* 88") much more perfectly resembled Terrence Lee's, than Anselmo ever did.
Track B1 is re-recorded version of track B1 from their previous album "I'm the Night".
"Proud To Be Loud" was Pantera's only song (not counting the covers), to be written by someone else than the band itself. In this case, it was written by Marc Ferrari from Keel.
